UTEs of today have been modernized to fit into our society. They are still however striving to maintain their original culture with the obstacles of keeping themselves tied to their beliefs. For the UTE people it is a struggle to be isolated from their tribal headquarters in Towaoc. They are still however striving due to running a cattle company and several education and health programs. The northern UTEs are currently more powerful than the southern because they own several business's and are joining local and state politics.
